Hi! My name is Kimberly Carlson. I grew up on a farm in the Northeast corner of South Dakota. I grew up knowing only about wide open spaces, flat ground and being able to see 50 miles in every direction. As a family, we went on family vacations in the summer time to places like the Black Hills of SD, Yellowstone etc. It was not until I was 18 years old that I really started to experience all that the world behind my back yard had to offer.
I received a Bachelors Degree in Community Health and Nutrition and a minor in Mass Communications. I worked for awhile as an Extension Educator with North Dakota State University and then went on to complete my Master’s Degree in Gerontology (Aging Studies). During my Graduate program, I was fortunate enough to meet my husband (of 16 years), Tom. Tom and I got married in 1995 and moved to Arizona for his new job. We were in AZ for about 2 years. During that time, I worked as a Wellness Educator for Cochise County. I provided education on such topics as healthy nutrition, controlling blood pressure and cholesterol as well as weight loss planning.
Today, my husband and I are business entrepreneurs. We own and operate:
Assisted Living Store, Inc.
199 Bridgepoint Drive
South Saint Paul, Minnesota 55075
(888) 388-5862
I now spend my day time hours taking customer orders, fielding product questions, taking care of accounting and bookkeeping as well as discussing and planning for the introduction and development of new products.
In addition to my worklife, I also have some avid hobbies which include gardening, travel and my favorite (bodybuilding). In my blog I will be discussing all sorts of topics that make me….me. Topics will include but are not limited to; health, nutrition, exercise, competitions, vegetarian eating, living well, the importance of taking a break, social time and family. Enjoy!!!!
